Office Bliss

Before above - 1 very large room with wood panel walls
After below - 2 offices and 1 large open area.

For most people the basement is a scary place. Cave crickets, moldy smells, and the sounds of floors squeaking overhead keep many from going down under their house. However our basement is where my office is located. It's a place I spend many hours working for the man.
Michelle has an office/playroom for Noah next door. Future plans for that room are maybe a media room/playroom .

I enjoy how sunlight comes in during the afternoon. More photos to come.

Cutesy but not so Cutesy

Noah has a new monster friend.
Michelle, Noah and I were in Asheville, NC for work yesterday. Bele Chere festival happened to be going on while we were in town. It is billed as one of the largest street festivals in the Southeast.
We saw this plush monster doll at one of the booths and we had to get it for Noah.
The website to see more of these great handmade monsters is.

Rural Studio

Animal Shelter built by "Rural Studio"

A month ago was the Modern Atlanta Home Tour. This is a week long event that ends with a Saturday and Sunday home tour. For the past few years I have volunteered with the event as a home docent. The perk of volunteering is you get 4 free passes for the home tour.

One of the events I volunteered at this year was to help at the screening of a movie about "Rural Studio". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rural_Studio

Rural Studio is where Auburn University architecture students build affordable houses for low income people in rural Alabama. However this low cost housing is like nothing you have ever seen before. It is MOMA meets Habitat for Humanity.

Last week while on business in Alabama, I happened to drive by a Rural Studio building (looks like cultural center) and I snapped this photo with my phone.
